pissed off
pissed offFor those of you that don't know, "guh" is what you say when see or read something so hot that words escape you. If I ever leave that as a comment to something you have written, it is a huge compliment. It means I have to wait for my brain to start functioning, stand in front of an open freezer, and guzzle a liter of water.
enthralledFeeling evil today because I'm miserable. Got poison oak. I have a delayed reaction to it, so by the time I realized I had it, it had spread. Everywhere. I hate it. Bite me.
irritatedNot much to say tonight (this morning, whatever) except, "Wow". I may not be sleeping tonight, but I can't even think about reading any fic or researching anything. Just feel elated. I made sure to watch every single race that had Phelps this Olympics. At one time, I thought swimming was boring, but not since he entered the sport. Records blown away, wins by a mere one-hundredth of a second, individual wins and team battles, rivalries and trash talk....you name it, it was to be found.
Oh and did you see Usain Bolt and his gold medal 100m run? That man could have shattered the record by an even wider margin if he had contained his enthusiasm until the end of his race. He made that look easy. Unless we find out later he was doping, this man has just elevated his sport. He is years ahead of his time. With all the doping controversy track has endured in recent years, this could be a breath (make that a gust as he flies by) of fresh air.
When there is no cheating and there are no scandals, when we have great sportsmanship combined with achievements, when there are stories that tug at the heart, the Olympics give me hope for the (One) human race.
ecstaticIt really didn't look like Phelps would pull it off tonight in the 100m Butterfly, but somehow it happened. I've been a fan of his since Sydney, and it is wonderful to see all your predictions come true.
Well, if anyone cannot sleep tonight, go to the Olympics section of espn.com, look at their Moments section, in the Memorable moments part. I'd give you a link, but that takes the fun out of midnight research. For some reason, the story of The Flying Housewife in 1948 really tickles me.
Enough chatter for now.
frustratedMore later, have to read a random Wikipedia article now.
